Hi all, been lurking on here for a while without posting anything enjoying people's build threads. I'm a third of the way through my 200tdi 90 rebuild and need some info off any member that can help.

I want to add a front anti roll bar but I don't have the chassis mounts to bolt one on. I've bought some mounts from yrm but now need some measurements so I can weld them on in the right place. Can anyone who has a front arb give me any measurements or datum so I know where to weld the mounts. I did contact yrm once I'd bought the mounts but had no response from them.

Really only worth adding if you fit softer springs such as disco or range rover springs.
Defender springs are too stiff for much body roll.

I'm still looking up spring set ups. Read so many different things about adding arb's. Some people say they make a big difference others say they don't. Think now I've bought the mounts I may as well fit them and keep my options open. Really wish I had put them on the order when I bought the rc chassis but hey ho.

Here is a page with all of the different spring rates available

As you can see, there is a lot of choice available.

A standard Defender 90 is
Front: 175 lb/inch
Rear: 225 lb/inch

A Discovery TDi is
Front: 150
Rear: 155/215^ (progressive)

As you can see it's a fair bit softer sprung, giving it a much more compliant ride, although it does suffer from body roll, hence the need for ARB's.

Interestingly the Defender will perform better off-road with Discovery springs as it will articulate better.

Ah cool. I'll have a good look through that now. Was looking at the springs off a td5 110 as they are progressive and from what I've read give a good compromise between on road and off road when fitted to a 90. Didn't consider disco springs so just opened up my possibilities! Cheers for the advise bud.

Just be careful as Rear 110 springs wont fit a 90/Disco/RR since they are wider and don't fit the onto the mounts.

Front springs are the same size though.

Ah Yea I can see what you mean, massively different. The setup I was favouring was progressive td5 110 springs in the front (nrc8044,nrc8045) and 90 HD springs at the rear but if disco progressive rear springs will fit and have a nicer spring rate that may be a better option.
