Hi, my fl1 has this anoying rattle somewhere up front,
you can only hear it on uneven ground sounds like suspension bushes gone, i motd it recently & they picked nothing up... towed a caravan last week ..no rattle under the weight of caravan.. had it up on ramps & cant see anything worn or loose..it seems to be getting louder as the weeks go by..
has anyone had this kind of issue before..is there a known common fault that ive yet to come across..

Any info greatly recieved

Ok .. thanks guys i will investigate further..
Ive also got an slight knocking sound when cornering sharply could this be the uv joints on the driveshafts??

It is a standard feature on all Land Rovers. If you fix one knock, you will only find that something else will start knocking a week or two later. I am not joking. This is one of the benefits of driving a Defender or a Disco - You don't tend to notice it so much because they're so loud anyway!

Yep that sounds about right.. ive had my 97 fl1 for 6 years now & its starting to show its age.. rear window dont go down the inch its supposed to to open tailgate but closes ok.. the rattle up front .. knocking on cornering.. cluch thrust bearing is realy loud.. rear diff leaking..fixed the 3 amigos prob & a seized viscous coupling..warped throttle body.., elec windows..etc..etc but its a good solid comfy 4x4.. could do with a few more horses for towing though..need to do some homework on wether its worth putting performance camshafts on & getting it mapped to find some more power.. any thoughts welcome.
Regards Keeny.
