Hi guys back again with another tyre question for the p38. It's that time of year again when a new set of tyres are on the cards and the last time I asked this most people talked about nexen but I managed to get hold of a couple of scorp st part worns, well all four tyres now appear to be heading towards the light and will need changing soonish I would imagine and with the mot due at end of the month think I will sort them now. So with the scorp st virtually impossible to get I am looking into what everyone says and looking into the nexon roadions. My question is what type though, is there a specific one that everyone that uses them would agree on? Again all advice if appreciated guys

Cheers paul

I have Scoprions on one P38 and Continental Cross Contact on the other. both very similar in characteristics and wear. both comparable in price and use, low road noise.

Both have 19" RR Sport wheels.

I ran Nexens on my P38's...no issues and I don't drive like a Meatus head so they did me fine!

Nexen Roadian AT on my v8 disco2. No problems at all, as it is mainly used for towing, I rarely go over 60.

There are a new set of Nexen's (not sure the name of the tread pattern though) on my p38a, fitted by the previous owner. They seem perfectly fine on the road I admit, certainly have no complaints, although I don't really throw the Range Rover about like a sports car, I have a sports car to do that sort of thing in.

I would say though, the Nexans do seem a bit rubbish off road though. Not that I'm doing loads of off roading, but you can tell the most they where designed for is bumping up a kerb. When these are worn I certainly won't be buying another set, they just don't suit my use for the vehicle.

16,18,19,20 0r bigger ? &for what use mainly ?

Thanks for the replies. I have 18" hurricanes on and just use it for normal day to day use. 4x4 for as and when needed but not to head off road racing up and down a mountain

ok best value for money imo fit 255/55/18 altenzo sports navigators, 2nd nexens & if you wanna splash out scorpion zeros

I've run 18" with Scorpion ST, General Grabber AT and Nexens with no issues. I also had some Vredstein on there but they were a bit noisy.

Yeah I have st's on now but need to replace soon and hard to find them as you know so needed to see what everyone recommends. So is it just a slandered grabber AT if I looked into those and the nexen roadian and the p zeros there's a couple of different types so not too sure which ones I should look into

All mine have been second hand off a well known auction site, complete with wheels. I've got quite a collection now that I really ought to sell on.

The problem is they change the tyre patterns all the time. I find road noise very annoying but I do go off-road.

Wow. A tyre advert just came up. This site really does watch what you type and learn!

I hovered over the top right corner of the advert and clicked and it gave me some options, one of which was "Inappropriate". Did that for a while and it seems to have learnt the stuff I don't like.
