Hi all. So...... I buy a mk4 BMW unit to get the better maps etc but now it seems to switch itself off then back on whilst I'm driving the screen goes black but the radio stays on. The route resets too, a bit odd, my original one never turned off and on at will so I'm presuming it's a faulty unit.... Any idea?

First thing I would try is re-flashing the firmware. Which version is it?

It's the new one from a fella called Matt on here. The nav does load up very slow??

Can you check to see if it’s v32 – if you go to ‘SET’ in the menu the firmware version is shown in the top right hand corner of the screen. v31 or v32 will show 4-1/100 and is the required version to use dual layer DVD navigation discs. You may need to ‘downgrade’ it back to v29.1 to see if it fixes the problem. I can help with the firmware CDs if you’re stuck

I think that's a hacked version of v32 (so called v32.2) - does it include a Day/Night setting and Camera Alert? I still think it may be worth you trying an earlier version of the firmware (say v29.1) to see if it fixes the problem.

hi, yep includes day night and camera, where can I get the earlier one? i have the new black white splash...maybe thats the problem??
