My Disco went back into the shop after having a replacement block fitted. They removed the SAI because the gubbins needed to install it were not on the replacement block (???)

The ECU now reads an error with the SAI but they cannot program the ECU to ignore or bypass it so the EML comes on.

Does anyone have any clues/experience/knowledge on how to overcome this?

Thanks

Graham

Off the top of my head I cant see why it cant be refitted to the new block. Two possible ways around it are downloading new software into the ecu using a non-SAI software tune - dont think Testbook will allow this, and I have tried to do it in the past. Not sure if maybe Autologic will do it,as it probably has more direct access to choices of tune. The other thought is to find a seconhand ecu from a non SAI car and fit that.It would need to be the correct transmission type and after that it would just need a security relearn.
