The oil pressure switch was changed , as I noticed it had been pulled half off by the steering arm. Now the oil light stays on that spilt second too long. Should I be worried. Series 3 convertion. Haven't long put it in.

What weight oil do you have in the motor? Does it only happen when the engine is cold? I swapped mine out with a VDO sender (and added an oil pressure gauge) and it's not as fast to turn the light off as the LR sender was when the engine is cold but with a warm engine it goes out quickly.

Some of the cheap senders are hit and miss, as above check oil viscosity, you want 15/40 not any modern cats ****

It is a bear mach sender, not sure of the oil. I was going to change it the weekend. Any make oil worth putting in?

Not sure what brands they sell on your side of the Atlantic but any name brand should work well. I use Shell Rotella In my diesels and Castrol in my gas engines.

if the new switch has a higher switching pressure than the old one it may take the engine slightly longer to get up to that oil pressure to put the light out?
