hi guys just got a disco td5[had a few landies over the years but this is the most modern one ive had] .my first question probably not the last. last week stopped,switched off engine,tried to restart 10 mins later and it fires then immediately dies,did this 5 or 6 times.called out the rac and when he came started first go.any one any suggestions,i use it every day for work,and need reliability.thanks for any replies. j

When you say it fires then immediately dies....
Is that as soon as you release the key and it goes back from P3 to P2?

yes runs at low revs for about 1 second then dies.hasnt done it since.as though the fuel was suddenly cut off. cheers j

It doesn't do it all the time does it!!
no hasnt done it since but would like to know what is was,so could possibly be rectified before it leaves me stranded somewhere.

I've had the same intermittant issue with my TD5
Still cant rule out oil in the red ecu plug as the culprit ... well not totally anyway.
Last time it did it I replaced the main relay. Hasn't missed a beat for about three weeks now and I deliberately left the oil in the loom this time....... go figure
