After looking around and searching on here etc it seems the nanocom is the diagnostic tool to have for a td5 d2.Is Blackbox the only supplier of these? And is the nanocom evo better to have? Before I commit to spending hundreds of like to know I’m investing in the right tool for the job also

I’d like to read live data
Add keys
Recalibrate sls If ever needed
I also have ACE on my car too.

Any help or advice given is always appreciated

When you say add keys,

Brand new ones provided with the code or second hand ones, potentially cheaper Rover 75 keys?

Cheers

Either really I currently have a silly 2key setup which is annoying, and I’d like the wife to have a key too

I use a nanocom evo.

I do not have ACE and when I purchased there were question marks about the nanocom evo and the diagnostics on ACE. I have heard that this issue is resolved but have never needed it anyway.

Ref keys, I got carried away and at the moment I think I have 4 working keys, most are R75 keyfobs which I have programmed the car to accept. R75 keys are generally cheaper but they do not work quite correctly on the D2 and the immobiliser cuts back in and you have to press the unlock button again to start if you wait too long. ( more info available in my alarm attachment sticky on the disco page).

But the nanocom allows you to program them using the code found on the little white sticker inside the fob. Hawkeye requires the use of the "barcode" number only supplied with brand new keys.

However if I was looking now:

If I found a cheap hawkeye , then I would find a new friend who had a nanocom to program my car with a second hand key or pay one of the suppliers £80 ish to provide a new fob with the dongle to program it.

Either really I currently have a silly 2key setup which is annoying, and I’d like the wife to have a key too

Not sure what you mean by the 2 key set up?????

Cheers

Basically the ign Barrel is different from the doorlock so the previous owner said
So I have to fob to get in then use a standard blank non Rover key to start
I have same issue regards to Refob to start if I don’t get in and start quick enough..
Previous owner said if you fob to lock it sets the alarm off so you have to use the key instead.
Obviously this is one of the first things I’d like to sort out
