I only did the drop links ... that only meant removing the wheels, nothing elseI have the identical noise too, sounds like it's from the rear, but open all the windows and its more as if it's just forward of the drivers seat backrest. I'm going to replace the lower arms anyway as both ball joint rubbers have split, so I'll add the drop arms to the shopping list too, and bushes of course. Is it absolutely necessary to remove the hub, disc etc, or can the ball joint nut be "got at" in situ and the joint split away from the hub carrier? Would save a lot of time perhaps?
