Hi, another newbie here.
I don't have a landrover at the moment but joined because I am trying to persuade my wife a freelander would be a good idea as a family car.

So I guess my next step is another post in the freelander subforum to see if my idea is a silly one.

Thanks everyone.
Classic old ‘it’s for the misses’ :p:D

Welcome to LandyZone :)
Oddly, although the wife is concerned about reliability etc, she does appear to quite like the freelander vs the alternatives (eg rav4,crv etc). It would take a lot to persuade her out of her bmw 1 series though as she loves that (although I don't! ).

Well she’s right there, I would have one before a RAV4. Problem with CRV is it ain’t a LR (ask any normal owner of one)
FL 1 diesels are bmw engined. The one she wants is the i6 - FL2 has that or a crappy ford engine not BMW but you don’t have to tell her that she won’t tell difference ;) doubt she’d go back to a 1 series after FL2

tbh, my problem with the CRV was that it was absolutely souless to drive. It was like a computer sim. Not my idea of fun.
But anyway, I am getting ahead of myself. I am not trying to persuade my wife to ditch her 1 series. This is a car for me, it is just that it also has to perform family duties so she has to be happy with it too.;)

and then you try convincing your mrs that the parts and upgrade deliveries you get are all ridiculously cheap or free

Upgrades? Well I might just have been checking out what tyres would be good and how much hassle to fit a lift kit ;)
To be fair I mentioned to my wife that something capable offroad would allow me to use a local offroad course and her reaction was pretty positive :D
