Hi all,
I'm new around here so go easy on me.

Thought I'd start my own thread to try and keep a track of the bits I do along the way.

I bought it around a month ago and soon found I had a cracked injector seat, (no worries as bought as a project) so off it went for a low mileage turners bottom end and new amc head.

Since I've had it back from the engine work, I've so far added the following:
Terrafirma HD steering bars
Terrafirma RTC steering damper
New panhard rod
Wheel spacers
Rear half shafts and drive flanges
Bearmach front diff guard
Wipac led smoked lights all round
Uprated intercooler
Silicone intercooler hoses
Puma xs half leather front seats
Adjustable height tow hitch
bendy aerial
And a CB radio (need to get an aerial)

Maintenance work so far has included:
New oil for the diffs and transfer box
New oil for the gearbox
New fuel filter
New swivel housings and associated seals/gaskets
Cleaned all chassis earths
And New door seals all round.

It handles and feels alot better already. Hopefully I'm heading int the right direction

And it wouldn't be right without a complimentary photo from todays green laning

The work done so far

Take it you've changed the plate from AV54 to TD54 and you or someone you know is called LEO!
Some decent upgrades. Looking good.

A few more additions this week.
Rotel cb radio fitted
New to me set of steels with big tyres.
Britpart HD springs on the front along with britpart dynamic shocks.(they were the best they had on the shelf locally)
And New front timken wheel bearings.

The front coils where well overdue and replacing them has increased the wheel arch gap by approximately 2 inches, she now sits level and feel nice and stiff on the front.

It's been a busy week again
New front discs and pads at the start of the week.

New to me winch bumper in the middle of the week.
Then towards the end of the week, new rear coils and shocks to match the fronts.

And also a new grille.
And the week wouldn't be complete without testing the new mods.
So a couple of trips down some lanes and shes looking much better.

Nice Landy! :cool::D
Thanks, its slowly getting to where I want it.
Had to fit a new fuel pressure regulator this week as the old one was leaking.
I've also sprayed the headlight surrounds as I got bored of them turning grey each time I washed it.
This weekend is going to be dedicated to finding what I suspect is a bad earth/ loose connection that's playing havoc with my lights/wipers.

Cheers,
Leo

So I found my bad earth/connection, it was the final 2 pin connector for the fan motor. All lights are now brighter and the fan motor now seems alot better.

Over the past week or so I've painted (black) and fitted new hinges front and rear, the doors now close without slamming.
I've also added a set of wing vents(waiting on the matching side vent) and tinted the rear side windows.

Its been a while since and update.

Sincle my last post ive been fairly busy getting odd bits done.

I bought a pair or HD trailing arms from the carboot sale, so I stripped back and painted them bonatti grey to match the body, and fitted those. Then was radius arm bushes as the previous owner hadn't seated them correctly.

I've replaced the felt on the rear sliding window, a pig of a job but very satisfying result ( it no longer rattles everywhere I drive).
I located a horrible knock I had coming from the new panhard rod bushes, so replaced the bushes with some bearmach polybushes, hopefully they last longer.

I had slight play in the balljoint on the steering arm from the box, so replaced the entire arm. (This job went alot smoother than expected)

Did a complete service oil/air/fuel filter including turbo filter.

Changed the brake fluid and bled the brakes through (is the old fluid meant to look like coke?!)

I'm sure there's more I've forgotten, but all in all pretty busy with it, and pleased with how its currently driving

Another quick update.

I had a slight play in my turbo cartridge, so sourced a good condition used turbo to swap in, until I decide what turbo to put in next, i replaced the turbo filter housing whilst there, as mine had stripped a thread on one side.

I had a day booked in Salisbury with a few friends, so gave the landy a quick going over before hand, however I couldn't have planned on this happening !

I hit a pothole and snapped 1 rear shock and pulled the washers on the other. That's my first really poor experience of sh!tpart. The shocks where only 3 months / 6000 miles old.
So the next step was to find something suitable, this led me to buying a full set of these....

The ride difference and handling is day and night, they feel a lot firmer yet smoother, and best of all is they look awesome.
