was my dad's Black & Decker..........quite a few years old....

looks like the Disco was too much for it.

so,
what are you all using / recommend ??

need to get one tomorrow.

Had a Black and Decker 4 1/2" that lasted for years. I've presently got a 4 1/2" Bosch that was on special offer in B&Q about three years ago, a 9" Bosch that's now 11 years old and a 9" Makita that's around 8 years old. The Makita gets most of the heavy work, and has cut up old water tanks, paving slabs and stone to build walls with for ages and shows no sign of wearing out yet.

Often it will be the brushes on the motor. Many are available, costing a few pence. Mine is CK, had it for years, when it packed up I decide to re-brush, having looked at the quality of the modern ones. Been running three years since then.

Ive found that the only reasonable priced angle grinder that can last the distance is a WORX! Third full classic restoration and its running as new! That goes for their drills just cant beat them regards. Chris

thanks for the offer Icbandit ................ but i'm dangerous enough with a 4 1/2" one !!!

didn't get one today as I had some work to do. so i'm now torn between the Bosh and Worx.
