I keep using them until they're not effective at grinding! Cutting discs break apart very easily, but 6mm discs tend to stay together a lot better, though I guess that also depends on whether you grind on the end or face, or both .. :)

Right, cheers. I was wondering if this was close to flying apart in my face (mask). I'm tight so I'll use it some more. :D
 
It seems not all cheap cutting discs are made equal. When the Dapetz one shredded itself I dropped the grinder thought "F*ck that!" and went to Screwfix for more of the Universal Fit ones as they do seem to stay intact as they wear down. I'm sure there are other good cheap brands but just don't buy Dapetz.. :)

Are you sure you are not just pressing to hard, give the disc a chance to cut, the only ones ever broken up on me, is when flexing the disc, or when I’ve dropped the grinder

Is there a chance it got wet at some point?
 
I have broken disks int same way by applying too much pressure. 115 and 230mm diameter. So I dun't apply as much pressure now.
