I keep using them until they're not effective at grinding! Cutting discs break apart very easily, but 6mm discs tend to stay together a lot better, though I guess that also depends on whether you grind on the end or face, or both ..
Really, what the heck do you think they used before electricity?
It seems not all cheap cutting discs are made equal. When the Dapetz one shredded itself I dropped the grinder thought "F*ck that!" and went to Screwfix for more of the Universal Fit ones as they do seem to stay intact as they wear down. I'm sure there are other good cheap brands but just don't buy Dapetz..
i dont know about that make but i come across very poor disc brandsI've been through a dozen or so of the Universal Fit brand without any issue, so I do blame the Dapetz discs.
