Hi

I actually joined here some years ago when I owned an old Freelander but never posted anything, which was poor.

Anyway, the Freelander finally ended it's life at 350,000km, gone to Serbia or somewhere, the kids have left home, we've sold our house and my naggin' about overlanding has finally worn her down.

I know the sensible thing to do in a situation like this is probably go for a landcruiser, but my heart is set on a Defender 110. I've never owned one, infact I've only been in one as a boy 100s of years ago but for some reason, to me, they are just the most characterful safari, overland vehicle ever made.

Now I just have to get one.

Difficulty with that is I'm in France !!!

Fly to England, drink some real ale, buy a 110, fill it with cheddar cheese and drive it back. Then re-register it French.
If you don't like it, sell it in France for a vast profit.
