I have just put mineral ep90 in my front diff and semi synthetic 75-90 in the rear, dont ask why....
apparently both acceptable to use but one has the thick viscosity of a creamy bowl of soup and the other very thin, like blood from a head wound.
Would these two extremes cause any stress in the driver gear ?
From the many years experience on this site, What have you been using and what would you suggest ???

Bet it would still be fine.
It would indeed.
Many old cars (my Hillman Avenger included) used engine oil in the gearbox, some being front wheel drive had the differential in the box too, so yes engine oil will also lubricate just fine.

Thanks...
I will now be able to sleep tonight, listening to the steady drip, drip, drip from a half shaft oil seal.
