prob 65 but i suggest you look for the sticker on it as it could have been changed in the past mine was replaced with a 45 unit from a fiesta! its now running a 100amp unit for all me lights and winch :D

sorry i ment what kind and whats it off?

I only ask as i have got a new 100 amp from a 300 tdi disco and am in the process of making a bracket to fit my 200 tdi.

its also the lucas A127 not sure if it was for a landy or not. i got it off a bloke on ebay who had a V8 put in his old 2.25 petrol and didnt need it. he was setting up an overland 90. £35 i paid :D only had to turn the mount around and drill my old pulley out to go over the new shaft. been working fine for months now.

good luck with your conversion.

I need a replacement alternator for my 1994 Defender 300TDi. Should i get the 65amp one such as AMR4249 or the Discovery 300Tdi 100amp one. if i go for the 100amp will it drop right in without having to muck about with it.

thanks

It looks like the 100amp is the better one to go for, so can anyone tell me if the Discovery type will drop right in to a Defender 300TDi 1994 without modifications.

Thanks

looking at the part numbers on paddocks, they dont match up. the defender uses lucas A127 and the disco A127i sounds the same but the actual part numbers are different. AMR4249G and AMR4248G respectively.

I have found that these numbers are usually the same when parts can cross between vehicles. It likely to be just the mount thats different but i wouldnt like to say.
