As title says, am I going mad or being really stupid? I can see the drain plug at the bottom, I can see the level plug in the middle, but where is the bloody filler bung/plug at the top on this axle on my 90?
Should I be filling via the level hole?

Remember to turn the wheel outwards to full lock when you are filling the swivel housing as that not only make it easier to get to, it also prevents the oil or one-shot from squirting back out at you.

Cheers gents. At least I'm not going mad.
Good shout with wheel turning for access. Gonna do them this morning.
Would having oil lubricated swivels mean that it would have had oil fed wheel bearings originally? If so are they still designed like that or would new bearings have been redesigned with a seal and need greasing.
Cheers for help

early 90s and 110s did use oil for wheel bearings, but thats separate to oil in swivel housing, they later still used oil in swivel but grease for wheel bearings, it was in the last half of the 90s they switched to oneshot swivel grease, done to reduce servicing costs, the difference between oil ill wheel bearings and grease is that with grease the oil seal was changed to one that had no garter spring and different sealing surfaces to suit grease not oil, bearings etc are the same in fact the same bearings used on series 3s in the early 80s

Ah, do people still produce kits with the old seal with garter spring in, or is it a case of just fitting the grease type nowadays?
Truck is a bit of a 'Bitsa' (bits a this, and bits a that), and been sat a while and messed with

You can still get all the parts for oil filled ones. My 90 has them, seals have been replaced [hub and ball housing ] but all bearings are original at a hundred and seventy thousand miles.

yes rtc3511 you just replace oil seal, maxi drive diff lockers used to offer the seal with their hd shafts and drive members so drive member splines would get oil lubrication, drive member wear is a big issue with td5 front axles
