so today i will be getting my 200 out the disco ready to fit my series

i am all clued up now, only problem i have is the alternator ! damn thing, i obviously want (preferably) to use the disco one (power!)
but i am not sure how i will fit it running off the power steering pump, should i

A leave the power S pump in place and try to fill with grease and tap the ends off or join the ends etc, if so how would you do it ??

B try and make up some spacers from long bolts and washers and try and align

C try the TD bottom pulley ?

or D give up !, joking, D is to try and extend the pulley somehow ?

i havent got series bracket only td and 200 set up ??????

any ideas would be greatfully recieved

Several different options dependant on your pocket depth ....

A. leave to power steering pump in place and loop the inlet/outlet pipes so steering fluid just circulates .

B. Buy one of the double alternator kits to sit the alternator up high on the drivers side
Alternator Mount

C. Space the standard series alternator bracket off the Tdi block with longer bolts and cut tube spacers

D. Cut and weld the standard series alternator bracket to give the correct spacing at the pulley using standard length bolts to the block .

I used option D as the long bolts and spacers can give flexing ...

I liked the look of B. but was too tight to splash out

I eventually threw away the PSP and cut the 200 mounting bracket and spaced it to bring it into line, spaced off the adjuster.......run on one long belt.....1200mm iirc.

Been about 6 months now and no problems........touch wood

right chaps appreciate that, i have come up with idea E

so i just took the air con pump off and that seems to have 2 long bolts holding it onto just above to pump ? hard to explain but i will try and find an altenator that drives off that, then i can have alt, water p and bottom pulley all on one belt
fiorgot to mention i have a peugot alternator too !
