From memory there is a little spacer between the adjuster fixing bolt and the timing chest, this then moves the adjuster bracket to the outside of the alternator fixing, so clearing the water pump.
Alt belt needs to be tight enough so you cannot turn alt cooling fan by hand.
Pas belt not to tight as it will destroy the pas pump front support bearing, the support bearing is not oil lubed its just a std grease filled bearing and its the def pas weak point, 3 Ive gone through in 4.5 years and they are bloody dear.
Both belts need constant tlc and can be a real pita.
