Where exactly does the alternator earth cable attach to, I've had a google and found out that it attaches to the block but where about's, I can't really see anywhere for it to go. Is there a special attachment I need for it.

The pic below shows the rough end of it, it's about a foot long.

Mine earths to the block through the alternator body and mounting bolts, although there is an earth strap nearby going between the chassis rail and the block.

Could it be that that you have seen?
 
Im not saying your stupid but allso make sure there is an earth strap like that from the block to chassis :D:D
 
Hmm, I don't remember seeing one lol, I'll need to check, I just fitted the engine but can't recall attaching one

Dont think your self to much a fool
Looking at your first photo (very nice and clear) We all mist the starter motor in the shot with the no were to go earth strap, and didnt click


If you need to no owt else we'll try abit harder :D

... And my alternator is in front of the starter motor and above the PS pump, so I didn't notice either!
