Hi all,
If an alternator was made to deliver 14.8v, will it affect/deteriorate/malfunction/destroy the P48 Instrumentation and functions?
An open debate. Hope to hear all reasons and suggestions.

Not sure what a p48 is but14.8 volts is fine, all the ECU's contain voltage regulators that drop the voltage the IC's use to 5 volts. The regulator is safe to 20 volts or more.
If the battery is low, I see 14.8 volts on my P38 after starting which will gradually drop as low as 13.5 volts
Lead Calcium batteries need up to 14.8 volts to charge, on some modern cars initial charging is at 17 or 18 volts.

My p38 alternator is set to 14.7v, rarely I'll see 14.8v show for a moment but it's usually between 13.8 and 14.5 depending on state of charge of the battery. Electrical load doesn't seem to have much impact

Datatek,
I have Hankook MF31-1000 Calcium battery (I may have posted about it elsewhere). I have looked for a voltage regulator set to 14.8 volts for my Bosch alternator (see pic). Can you help me find one that will fit my alternator or can you suggest what can be done to the alternator to produce 14.8 volts?
I would be much thankful.

What alternator do you have? Can you show me a pic of it? I would like mine to be 14.7 volts too. See pic attached. I have asked Datatek for advice. I hope someone can help.

I have the same alternator as you. You need to replace the regulator with one set to 14.7v Mobiletron VR-VW010 is the correct one

Sorry, I do not know the correct regulator for that alternator, I suggest you look at the Mobiltron site.
