The indirect injection BMW M51 engine is quite happy running on veg oil.

Been running mine on a 50/50% mix of SVO/diesel for about 18 months now.
Starts OK on a 50% mix but harder to start in the cold when using 75% SVO.

Mixing in the tank is the only problem. The method I use is to run the tank down to nearly empty, fill with 40 litres diesel at the garage then add 40L SVO back at home. Take it for a spin to let it slosh around and it is generally OK. The spill back helps mix it.

The in tank pump may pack in if you go over 50% in the cold weather.

thanks its sounds like the same method i used on my old pajero , i used as mix of wvo i filtered down to .5 micron

WVO is hard to come by. Every man and his dog wants it.

I use SVO from Costco at 90p/L in 20L kegs. I get 4 or 5 kegs every time I go there. They think I own a big restaurant.

Are toy not meant to put some kind of heater in the mix? so as the fuel goes in it hears it up, and makes it thinner?

You can put heaters in. Usually if you go for a twin tank system.
Start on diesel and then when everything up to temp switch to second tank on 100% veg oil.
