Hi

Well after a heavy rain storm over night i just been out to the discovery and on the rear blind that covers the boot area i have a puddle of water on looking in
the boot area its coming through the alpine window at the top, just wondering if i can put some silicone sealant around the out side to stop this ? if so can anyone help with what type would be best and will the hardware stores sell it ? could do with getting it done asap really

Are you sure that it's the Alpine light and not the sunroof.

Silicone is not the best sealant for the purpose as it will dry out and eventually crack. Take the rubber filler strip out of the retaining rubber, clean both sides out (glass and body side) and then use a proper windscreen sealant (assuming that it's a D1) which should remain flexible.

Use Captain Tolley
Perfect for this and just done mine - Can find on e-bay or marine/boat specialist

3- 4 applications should do the trick - Easy to use no mess or fuss
