well the windscreen refit went well used the rope system and with two of us was ok..

tried the alpine lights and we got in a right muck n fuddle..

tried the window in the rubber and the string on the inside,didnt work
tried fitting rubber then putting glass into rubber didnt work.
after an hr on 1 window i said fook this theres gotta be an easy way ill ask the font of knowledge lz 2nite

we used plenty of lubrication which just made things a lot more slippery.

if the seal was in one piece like the windscreen im sure it would be easier, but over to you guys how have you done it and been successfull?

never done one before , but id try fitting half the seal first, then slide the glass into the fitted half then pull the rest of the seal inside .

just an idear than trying to fit it in in one hit

Yu must be doing summat wrong I did the seals on a disco and they was a piece of ****. Use paracord and put a loop top and bottom fit glass in seal and then as much seal as will fit into aperture. Then start to pull string out of seal as you go round once Bottom half is done start on top half.

I used some thinner cord, about 2mm diameter, but rapped it around twice. Then with the missus pushing from the outside I eased the cord out. Even so, I had to manipulate some of the seal using a plastic spatular. Also used lots of petroleum jelly.

You aren't trying to fit the seals with the centre filler strip in place are you?

Alpine light seals are a two piece affair with a filler strip that needs guiding in after fiting the seal and glass - like on 90/110 quarter lights.

You'll need one of these to fit the filler strip, scroll down to item 85:

I drive past this place every day on my way to work. Never realised they made tools for vehicles.
