Hi all I am after a custom alloy fuel tank, I have sent drawings of to a few company's but they all seem very expensive!

I would build my own if I could weld alloy but hey ho, so does anyone know of any good company's or people on the forum who are a dab hand at alloy welding or fuel tank making :)

Also what is every ones thoughts on foam filling the tank over baffles ( the car is for road use and green laning ) nothing major

Theres a chap on ebay advertising cheap enough for me to send my work to him and not bother making the tanks, unless real fancy
ps what do you call dear?
 
I basically just did a google search and sent it off to about 6 company's on the first page. Had 3 replies so far and all around the £450 but all are foam filled
 
Just had another reply and for tank with baffles instead of being foam filled, its around £350 inc vat and postage.

These are the drawing i sent to the complanys, do you think it is a reasonable price for what i want. ?

 
There is a company in Hampshire that makes custom built tanks from plastic. I am going to get them to make my 6 fuel tanks. I will dig their name and number out for you. Their prices were good as I remember.
 
Need a custom tank as it is a disco 2 chassis shortened, and i dont want to lose much space in the back, so its going under the floor over the rear axle.

And i have just had another quote for £255 delivered, sounds like a good deal to me, that with an engineering firm.
 
Yes it was £200 plus vat and £15 postage so £255 all in.
I have sent tektank an email and am just waiting to see there price.
 
Right so after several email back and fourth with Mk engendering I found them to be the best price and the best to deal with.
They sent me detailed drawings of what they where going to produce and sent me emails and texts to confirm and adapt parts to suit my needs.
Any way, here is the finished product I got it today all wrapped up securely :)
