Hello thanks for letting me join landyzone!
Pls forgive me if I I’ve posted this on theincorrect bit.
I wondered if someone can advise me ongetting AT tyres for a a mint condition 04plate Freelander1 2.5V6 that I’ve just purchased. It currently has 235/50/18 tyres on and I desperately need AT tyres as I travel on dreadful farm tracks a lot. The trouble isafter searching every where I just can’t find aAT tyre for that size rim! Can I put as anyother size on my current rims that doesn’tmess with whatever a drive train is?

All 4 being same size with same tyres and correct pressures is the key thing!!

Do the one wheel up test to check the vcu is OK. Search or use the top thread on things new owners should do!!!
 
Thank you 17’s sound a great idea! Shame really as the 18 alloys are in perfect condition but they won’t be for long after our farm tracks! Just need steel wheels now! Wonder where a can find ones that can go straight on?

If you got to 17" rims, the just keep the 18s, as they are the most valuable of freelander wheels.
I sold my set for £550, with good Cooper tyres fitted.

Me I'd actually find the FL1 looks and drives the best on 18" rims, so I won't find some decent AT tyres for them, which is what I had on my TD4 SE. There are quite a few AT tyres in 18" now, especially if you change them to 235/55/18. ;)

Steel wheels only come in 15".

If you think you're going to damage the 18s, then put them in storage and get some second hand 17s instead, fitting 225/65/17 Yokohama Geolander AT 015 tyres. ;)

Good to have you along for the ride.

Incidentally the FL1 V6 facelift is my favourite FL1, as they drive so well. It also has my favourite Rover engine fitted.
However the MPG is shocking, and they need very careful and frequent maintenance, so I now have a FL2 diesel instead.
I've still got a soft spot for the FL1 V6 though.

Have these on mine (16" rims) and definitely agree with Andy's assessment: they work superbly on both road and the lanes :D

Think about modular 16" steelies - but looking at your avatar, your car will likely look better on standard alloys :D

It has a very nice engine have to say! Mine has only done 36000 on a 04 plate and only done 2500 miles since 2014! Yep I’ve noticed that the fuel gauge goes down fast but what the hell Im still on the first tank I’ll worry about driving economy later!!

They average 19MPG, so you'll see under 300 miles to the tank of fuel.:eek:

When were the timing belts changed?

Omg... really!!?.... going to have to tell a few fibs to my wife then!..... the Cam belt was done n 2014 only 2500 miles ago. Do you think that’s ok?

You'll see 30 MPG on the motorway, if you keep to 60 MPH. Around my Cornish roads, mine was returning between 15 and 23 MPG, depending on how I drove it, but it averaged out at 18.9 MPG over 30k miles.

It's over in time, but well under in miles.
Maybe change them, if you decide you can cover the rather high fuel consumption. ;)
