My new ECU got delivered today, plugged it in, cleared the fault and it is still the same  so the only thing I can think of is a broken wire, but why is the sensor still ticking when I test the sensor's  Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the rear PDC.

you sure there all ticking ???

common issue is wires chaffing on the bumper bar.

could be a wire shorting onto the metal bumper bar causing a short circuit to ground.

whip off the bumper and look, only takes 15 mins to remove :)

Ok I emailed Storey last night and this is what he came back with, if you have the all comms you need to keep this.

These are the potential faults for the Parking module.

'0x1 0x0001 Rear left ultrasonic sensor.
'0x10 0x0010 Distance sensor.
'0x11 0x0011 Parking Aid switch.
'0x12 0x0012 Microcomputer.
'0x2 0x0002 Rear right ultrasonic sensor.
'0x3 0x0003 Rear centre left ultrasonic sensor.
'0x4 0x0004 Rear centre right ultrasonic sensor.
'0x5 0x0005 Front left ultrasonic sensor.
'0x6 0x0006 Front right ultrasonic sensor.
'0x7 0x0007 Front centre left ultrasonic sensor.
'0x8 0x0008 Front centre right ultrasonic sensor.
'0x9 0x0009 Ultrasonic sensor voltage.
'0xA 0x000A Rear sounder off.
'0xB 0x000B Rear sounder on.
'0xC 0x000C Front sounder off.
'0xD 0x000D Front sounder on.
'0xE 0x000E Switch LED off.
'0xF 0x000F Switch LED on.

Hope this helps guys.
Where on the car is the Distance sensor....

 - New one on me...

Look in RAVE at the System Description section for the PDC, it will clearly explain how the system works and also ALL the components and their locations....

It may just be that the ECU has the function but it is not used on the L322 - don't forget the majority of the components in the L322 are from BMW and they use the same components on a myriad of vehicles!

I thought it might be in the ECU.

I have looked on the PDC Control Diagram and there is no sensor on there so it must be in the ECU..

Again - this function may not be used on the L322 and can be ignored....just because the ECU has it as one of the 'POSSIBLE' fault codes doesn't mean it is used on the L322...

All the Legend that is Storey Wilson sent to you is all the fault codes the ECU is capable of delivering...but not necessarily what the L322 will throw up as a fault.....

RAVE Does have the Schematic and also in the System Description and Operation section a full written description of the components and how the system works.

Have you not yet removed the bumper ?!
No it won't stop fecking raining, thinking about it now it's looking like the signal wire is broken,if there is an supply pin 12 and a ground pin 2 i guess that's what makes it tick then it must be pin 11 wire broken, not receiving a signel back to the ECU...

I cannot see a wiring diagram in my RAVE i will keep looking.:D

what you have is an ISO file...this is a CD Image file....

To Open you'll either need to mount it in something like Damon Tools, PowerISO or Alcohol120....

Else you can extract the files using WinRAR (WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files) and extract the files to your harddrive then select the RAVE Application (it may moan that you have another version of Acrobat Reader running - close this down before running RAVE)....

You are looking for the RAVE Application .exe file as attached image....

Ok a brake in the weather so the bumper came off, removed rear bumper wiring loom and inspected and done a continuity test all ok  so to eliminate this I replaced the loom (brand new).

So now its had a...

Brand new sensor
Brand new ECM
Brand new wiring loom

I also read/cleared all items on the all comms thinking something might be linked to it and it still comes up with rear left sensor fault .

Me thinking all comms faulty now, could it be the front end faulty so I pressed the button, beeper sounded and then flashing light, went to the front of the car and could only here one sensor ticking .

Could the all comms be faulty ?
Has it got to go to the stealers to have the faults read????

Please help as it might even have a gallon of petrol :D
