hi,
im looking for an alarm for my 90. Ive seen several diy alarms, doesanyone have any experience with them? i just want an alarm and not an imoobiliser. Just something to make people aware of whats going on, as hopefully the other deterrents will take time to get through.

You can get alarms that are so simple to fit its one screw one wire. Or of course you can go the whole hawg and get one with remote start, paging and turbotimer too. If you can wire up spots and relay then most alarms shouldnt be too difficult for you.

i am still on the alarm hunt. Do all DIY alarms fit defenders. Ive got a 1988 90 so it doesnt have central locking etc, would the door sensors still work as i have read some alarms wire straight into the door locking system.

most of the cheap alarms work by using the interior light door switches as their trigger - which i suspect your 90 won't have
