Have changed flat battery on 1999 p38 and alarm goes off as soon as earth terminal is connected, what can I do to remedy this?

You could unplug the alarm sounder then try locking and unlocking with the FOB.
You didn't follow the correct procedure when disconnecting the battery I suspect.

With a flat battery you cannot follow the correct disconnect procedure. Now you have a charged battery try it. Slacken the earth lead bolt,turn on the ignition,turn off and disconnect the earth lead within 17 seconds. Leave a door open and put the ignition keys in your pocket.;)

Blamed the dog the1st time :rolleyes: did it again when he wasn’t there. Not done it for years now but I don’t give it the opportunity anymore. Always when I approached drivers door as if it sensed me? Plus got tagged in a newbs thread and started an argument when I refused to tell a stranger how to break into a p38 on an open forum :oops:
