I have a discovery 1 300tdi and every time i lock it the hazard lights start to flash and the alarm sounds. any idea's?

More info required, does it do that after a delay, does it do that instantaeous. does it do that with key locking or with the fob locking ????

the hazords start flashing straight away as soon as i lock it most of the time some times it taked a few min. i have also fitted a spider to the imobiliser. the car has been stood fore a cuple of years before i got it with no battery on it.

What do you mean by 'fitted a spider' ? The 300's came with a spider, so have you replaced a duff one, just blithely added one or what? I'd suggest you need to re-check the wiring whichever is the case ..

We're not psychic ...

Does it seem to lock everything OK? ie do all doors lock, if it does and you leave a window open then wave something in front of the sensor does it sound off? Does it still have a bonnet switch?

I'd also check the battery is good and fully charged, has a good earth and that all earths on the body/engine/gearbox/chassis are good.

A spider is a bipass for the imobliser a wireing harness. and yes all the doors lock fine useing the key fob

OK, did it work OK before fitting your spider?

Mine will do this sometimes, lock it and within 40 seconds the light will start to flash. Also the siren will sound for no reason at all. Mine even goes off with the car unlocked. I've been told that its the alarm module thats the cause

fixed i hope i think it was down to a earthing problem the earths next to the battery on the inner arch. only cleaned the contacts up yesterday. so far so good hopefully no more no problems. thanks fore all the help guys
