Hello!

Any suggestions for my alarm...

After I jetwashed my td5 90, the alarm has started the habit off going off about 10 minutes after I've locked it (with the fob).

When I tried locking with the keys the locks popped open again (this didn't happen with fob). I opened and closed doors for the 12th time *firmly* and now it locks with key without popping the locks back up.

I also noticed the alarm switch under the bonnet had all the rubber coming off - so I've removed this in case it was jamming the switch contacts. All the door contacts seemed fine, but Indid notice the interior light seemed to be staying on more than usual when driving (although this has often had a mind of it's own)...

Any suggestions of where else to check or what to disconnect if it keeps happening??

Thanks

If the interior light has a mind of its own I would suspect one of the door switches. If its developing an intermittant fault, it could be setting the alarm off too.

Thanks... will investigate that more... might be able to narrow it down to which door is used when it plays up...

I would suspect the actuator in the drivers door, it different to the other actuators as it is also a switch to open/lock the other doors, if it is it is a cheap fix, you can get replacements from fleabay for next to nothing

Pull the door switches out and give them a good going over with a hairdrier, as it sounds as though you've got some wet inside them.
Then give them all a good squirt of WD40
Or , if you are bone idle like me, just give 'em all a good squirt :D:D

Pull the sensor out of the roof lining and discont it then see if it goes off again. Had the sensor go in nearly every car I've owned, I think it cost £60 for a new one.
