Does anyone know if it is possible to dissable the alarm on my 53 plate D2 whilst it's on an overnight ferry whilst still locking the vehicle?

Thanks

Fairly sure the security section of the owners manual (do you have a copy?) details how to lock the car without a activating the alarm. I'm sure there is a link to the manual if you don have yours.

Yes it is possible using a Nano or Hawkeye, but why would you want to?

If you are worried about rough crossings setting off the alarm, I can assure you it won't - the crossing we did on the way back from Morocco was the worst by far I've ever experienced and it didn't set the alarm off.

Use the Ireland ferry regularly and have to leave the dog inside the Discovery,

If you lock with the key instead of the remote it arms the doors and bonnet switches only and turns off the volumetric sensors inside the cabin.

Thanks both, manual went missing ages ago when first child discovered ability to throw things away. I'll take the advice about the rough crossing with a hugh pinch of travel sickness tablets. Cheers

If it gets so bad that the car alarm activates, it means the glass has gone or the vehicle has tipped over...Top tip.. follow the example of the captain of the ill fated Costa Concorda, be the first in the boat and as soon as you reach land phone your insurance compay.
