I've had some local pond life eyeing up my Disco 2 for a few weeks now. They keep driving past my place and slowing right down and looking up my drive to see where the Disco is parked etc. This wouldn't be suspicious normally but I live in the middle of nowhere and my house is the only one here and they're not admiring my motocross driveway. I don't really trust LR's alarm offering so what would you experienced Disco owners do to ensure your beloved is safe? Normally i'd put it in the garage but the bad weather last year ripped my roof and doors off which is a shame as it was a cracking garage. I have a budget of say £400 - £500 so recommendations would be much appreciated. It's taken me 45 years to come around to the love of a Land Rover I don't want to lose it now.

Mechanical devices such as discloks and pedal locks are showing up as better ways to spend your money in LZ's and Landywatch's stolen vehicles polls. If you want electrical gadgetry a tracking devices for getting it back once stolen is a better idea.

Pm Ryder on the forum and he should be able to sort you out a decent tracking system for a good price.

as long as it's properly working and set well the D2 alarm it's good enough... they can steel it only if they put it on a trailer and after that it's unstartable without the original key...you can trust it without fear IMO, you can do a very simple additional "immobiliser" by inserting a hidden switch on the ECU feed circuit and leave it cut over night, but as long as the original alarm is armed the D2 can't be tricked to start unless the thief knows the EKA code and has a tester to disable the passive(robust) immobiliser.

Is it a facelift model? They might be after your headlights. Park up to a wall if you can.

Maybe time to start keeping the dogs outside.

If you keep seeing them it might be worth chasing them to get a registration just in case. A report to the local plod might at least tell them if its a genuine registration.
