Hi I have inherited a disco 2 face lift. The air con didn't work I had it recharged and tested but the guy said that the fan was not engaging when the system got hot. Now I'm in Ukraine and there are no landrover service's here. So I took off the fan and tested it and it works. I think I checked all the relevant fuses but still no luck anyone able to shed some light on this?. Thanks

On my disco 1 there are 2 senders on thermostat housing, the green one on mine was faulty. To test it put a small screwdriver between contacts whilst engine running and air on on. If fans come on then this is the culprit

Don't know exact location on yours, but follow hoses from radiator to engine and you are sure to find it. If it's same as 300tdi it will be at the front and have 1 or 2 senders on it. These have electrical connectors on them, short them out to test

Hi, forget about those D1 things, you should know that the fan is not managed by the system's temperature but by the ambient temp. which must be above 28*C for the fan to start, there's a sensor behind the front grill rh side, remove relay R4 in engine bay fusebox and put a bridge instead it's contact(there's a scheme on the relay don't put bridge on the coil)... if the fan doesnt start this way make sure fuse F5 (40A) is good and makes good contact... if the fan doesnt start this way it means there's a wiring issue, if it does it's management issue, to be able to guide you further you need a RAVE, download and install this https://www.dropbox.com/sh/i5rmgjuufyt1126/AABoyqawD9O8WrjXSCmdgMp8a?dl=0 then we'll speak

When I had the aircon really gassed the service said the fan should turn on as the pressure was high in the system?? It was in ukraine so he could have no idea what he was talking about
