Not advisable though. Scotland is the only place i have ever been where you can have winter and summer alternately all day. ;)
Exactly!! You can open/close the window a lot quicker than the aircon can adapt.
And if you don't like the weather now...wait 10 minutes! :D

I will check the clutch and if ok will take to shop when I am in civilisation in a couple of weeks.
Up until now I have always used the window method but had to change the heater cos that is necessary
Now the wee book thing is jut annoying

I do my own just need the gas. But used to be able to get at Halfrauds and other places a small can of R134a and an adaptor and gauge for around £16.00 and just the gas for around £9.00 for top ups. Now the gas is ridiculously expensive.
The cans are what I have used in the past, now it's not much more expensive to go to a Feu Vert tyre place who do a test and re-gas for €49 from time to time.

But opening the window does not keep the humidity levels inside low to protect the electronics, plus in scotland you have all those pesky midges..

I just missed getting hit by the price rise when I got mine refilled this summer. Luckily my local indie had stocks of R134a at the old price. P38 needs nearly twice the gas compared to most modern cars, but some beer tokens solved that challenge (cost price gas !! ).

Interesting article here about the R123a price increases.
