have got the srs light on dash board and airbag fault showing on display Ive had this in the garage to try and reset it but the garage are saying they cant comunicate with the car. Until i get this cleared it wont pass the MOT. Is there anyone around Cornwall / Devon with Faultmate ? so i can try and reset it myself !

Take a goosey at the OBD connector as it has been known for the plug wiring to corrode and break...

What are they using to connect to the car - only the Land Rover Diagnostics, Faultmates, Nano's etc will talk to the P38/L322 - a standard OBDII device won't talk to it apart from the Engine ECU (Not Diesel)

wiggle yellow wire and check fuse 33 right will do! and the garage i went to are a landrover garage and have relevant software but i wonder sometimes about the operator! wanna get this sorted desperate to drive it again getting bored with the pajero .

The SRS error will not reset until you clear the fault. If it's been on diagnostics it should have given which circuit is faulty and whether open or short circuit. Rotary coupler is another possibility.

right checked all connectors under seat and also fuse 33 and still on i think ill just book it in for mot and see what happens. and like i said when the garage plugged it in they couldn't get the computers talking

Fuse 33 is for diagnostics. SRS also uses fuse 23 for diagnostics but if that was duff it would effect the dash panel. So maybe it's a dirty OBDII connector think pin 14 is for SRS. Maybe it's just the other bulb that has blown think there are two for SRS if one blows other one comes on all the time.

would that then trigger it to say airbag fault on the display screen ?

I would think so as there is an incomplete circuit. A broken circuit is about the only reason you would get an SRS fault. Not 100% sure though. But worth a punt. Disconnect the battery and wait a while before you start playing with SRS though.

and to get to the bulb is easy i take it ? Just seen 110 defender for sale thinking about buying it maybe less hassle in long run !

Reasonably but you have to remove the instrument panel. Pretty easy to do. That involves disconnecting the SRS plug. That is why i mentioned battery.

well i back 2 work tmoz so will have play next wk when i back ! i take it it just screwed in place hopefully this is all it is :wtf:

According to my info, one bulb failing causes the other bulb to light but no mention of it causing the airbag fault message.
A flat or low voltage battery can also cause the SRS message and it will only re-set with diagnostics.
