Bought myself a P38, M reg with a couple of faults...one being the airbag light is on (red SRS light)

Its permanantly on but seems to dim like its on but trying to flash.

The sellers story was he was fiddling with fuses trying to get the cig lighter to work, pulled the wrong fuse and the light has been on since. ??

Anyway after a search or 2 it seems I need to put it on a diagnostic machine.

Connected today to a brand new Snapon demo machine at work and it wont do it. 99 before it finds a rangrover with airbags.

So the question is which machine will read/reset a 95 p38 airbag system?

Anyone used a Launch? could maybe borrow one of them or an older Snapon one.

They must change at 99 as thats the first year airbags appear in the rangie menu of the snapon machine.
Tried it anyway but it wouldnt talk!!

Next try is the back door of local landrover :)

There are a few variations. MPS1 up to around 96. SPS1 from 96 to 98 then SPS2 for 99 models with seat bags and belt tensioners from then on.

I think I'd want to use Testbook to get into an early SRS DCU....
(Thats if you want a straight answer...)

Nanocom does them all and therefore MSV which is more comprehensive also will do them. The Snap-on appears to only cater for SRS2.
