I have a slightly strange problem with the air suspension. It will stay up fine for days on end, have had the bags checked for leaks and no sensor ride height issues are showing on the computer. If I get into the car and put the key to position ii i.e. electrics but not started, then when I get out of the key you can hear a hissing noise and the rear suspension drops on the drivers side. Any ideas ?

Many thanks for any help you can give me on this

Sensor ride height issues dont always show on the computer.
Have a physical eyeball of the sensors and make sure the arm/linkage hasnt snapped.

it drops all the way down or just a little?

check the ride high sensor on the rear where the bolt fits through the bottom of the sensor it rusts and cracks the bottom of the sensor allowing it to move

All the way down !

there could be more issues, to rule out things there are more methods, you have to choose the one which seem easyer for you:

1. swap the sensors between them(disconnect battery first)
2. swap the plugs between the air supply valves.

in both cases if the fault will move to the other side it means that the sensor has a problem...if after the swap the fault will stay on the driver's side then it's a problem with that side's valve which is sticking after it gets the deflation command... for the case when the ignition is turned off and a load is removed from the vehicle the management lowers the back with about 20mm(that's how it works), and if the valve doesnt close back it could lose air there

Mine had exactly the same issue it was a hair line crack in the top plate of the air bag very near where the air line goes in, was only found out by immersing in water and flexing really hard in all directions - Air would come out but only if flexed in a certain way
