Hi everyone I am looking for some advise, I have a Range Rover p38 2.5 D and for some reason the air suspension won't raise, it seems stuck on load mode. The light is flashing on the dashboard as normal when it is about to raise, but nothing happens. Is there a common fault and easy fix as I'm no mechanic, or is this a garage job? Thanks

There are a number of possibilities. Up the top of the page there is an archive of tech stuff. One is by Wammers. That will give you a number of tests.

My guess (based solely on it happening to me) is that the compressor needs refurbishment.

The kits aren't expensive and it is relatively easy. It must be. I managed it.

G~

Check if the brake lights are on all the time. If the brake switch is sticky it won't go up either. Wammers How To on the compressor is probably the answer though.

Agree with this my compressor bearing went and threw some metal into my diaphragm I have replaced both and refurbed my old pump which is in the boot for next time.

Thanks for your advise, i don't appear to have any air coming out of the valve to the receiver but I have checked the compressor and we have
air building up.

Any ideas?

Finger pushed off compressor outlet? I'd check the brake lights next, that's an easy one. Just reverse up to something and check out the back if the lights stay on when your foot is off.

After that we're looking at something more holey.

I have pulled the hoses out from the valves 4 of which have pressure, but one didn't have any and no air to the receiver.

Brake lights go out as soon as I lift of the brakes. Could it be one of the valves not opening?

I understand the valves are magnetic and again I have tested these using a screw driver in the valve plugs, again 4 of the valves have magnetic but one didn't.

Thanks for help grrrrr and wammers

Follow the how to check the compressor and air system. That is what it's there for.

How do I check wammers "how to" check the air suspension? Sorry still finding my way around the site.

At the top of the Range rover page you will see Technical Archive click on that and scroll down to my EAS How to. Read it.
