hi

iv got a problem with the rear suspension on my disco 2 td5
it goes down on the drivers side whenever it feels like it :(

even more so if i put any weight in nthe back :(
anyone any ideas whats causing this please??

after its been stood still or while your driving?

its possible your o/s air bag has a minor leak

can be both m8

it first did it while moving
after restarting with all doors shut it went back up.
after loading the back with some concrete blocks i needed the suspension went down and wouldnt go back up :(
after about 2hrs i tried to raise it again and it did.
today i was driving it and it decided to go down while i was driving, got home left for awhile and restarted and it went back up.

Come back old coil spring, all is forgiven...
The underside of a Disco is no place for this sort of namby pamby technology; better left for the w*nkers in the X5s etc.
This is why I fear that the D3 may be knackered from the start. Computers, wires and gadgetry do not mix well with water, mud and a life of hard knocks.
As for your problem - sorry can't help, but I hope you get it sorted.

If you have a leaky air spring on one side it is best to get it sorted out fairly quickly- or you will end up needing a new air supply unit as well.

get the rear right up on an axle stand(use the axle not the body) remove wheel and spray air bag with soapy water get all round the air bag and see if its leaking

hi it could also be a faulty height sensor, but do the soapy water test 1st,dont forget to check the compressor for leaks as sometimes the valves can leak in there too,if no leaks then next safe bet is height sensor, which can loose the position of where its supposed to be causing it to colapse, hope this helps, tiga

cheers for the replies :)

im guessing on it being the height sensor tbh as it dont allways go down.
if it was a leak as such wouldnt that cause it to go down when stood ??
its been up for days now (seems to only drop when weights put in).
