Hi all

been away for a bit got the above problem when i changed from 16 inch alloys to 18 inch hurricanes and now my suspension wont go up its stuck in the lowest setting

also if anybody needs any parts i know i guy whos breaking three range rovers bought a head,clear lights all the way around and some side steps with the brackets for 250 quid

On your suspension - you are supposed to recalibrate after changing the wheels however I can't think of any reason why or how changing them would balls it completely!

Maybe worth sticking it on Testbook to see though.

Can anyone tell me how to do this, as I am going to be changing alloys on 4.6 fairly soon and this would be handy to know.

You do NOT need to recalibrate the system when changing the wheels. You only need to recalibrate when a height sensor has been replaced.

When you changed the wheels, how did you lift the vehicle??

Did you lift the vehicle on a two post lift at all?? Thats the only way I could think of that could possibly disable the system, lifting on a 2 post lift means you are probably lifting the vehicle by its body allowing the axles to hang free, this could unseat any worn/old suspension bags and they may have popped off.

If this isnt the case, have you visually checked all bags etc??

hi

i used a normal trolley jack did each tyre at a time

it tries to go up the light indicating that it is trying to get to the normal ride height flashes and the light at the bottom stays on

i just want know if it will do any damage to the car if i just carry on drivin it has moved up a bit once i got it on level ground will drive on my four post ramp next week and see if i can see owt
 
hi all

just sat in the car started it up gave it some gas and press the button and the car started to go up then i pressed it to go to the highest setting gave it a bit more gas and it went up and it works all the way down aswell so left it on the lowest setting

'Giving it gas' will not help as it has nothing to do with the EAS. It sounds more like you have a worn pump seal and need to refurbish your pump. you will end up with a hard fault sooner rather than later if you have a worn pump.

to check the pump, unscrew the inlet filter on the end of the pump. start the car ,close all doors and tailgate, put your finger over the inlet, it should be sucked hard against the pump. if not the pump is not pumping. assuming it is running
 
I definately read this somewhere the other day...I've been doing so much reading recently with my current predicatment I can't remember where - but will take a look around again :)
 
Well had a look around and canny find anything. I seem to remember reading it in a short list of times that air suspension should be or may need recalibration. I was also looking in to 3rd party diags tools at the time so maybe rogue info off one of their websites.

Or I was just dreaming.....
 
hi all, can any one help my p38 just changed my rear airbags but has not helped raise the rear the front does raise now any advice very welcome cheers
 
Without more info it's difficult to help. Try the following

1/ check all airlines, top of bags, dryer connection and valve block connections for leaks using soapy water or gas leak detector spray (from Wicks or similar).
2/ check pump function, as mentioned above unscrew the pump filter and with it running check it sucks on your finger (doesn't hurt, don't worry).
3/ check for error codes. Google RSW solutions, follow instructions to make up their OBD lead, plug it in and use their software to read the codes.
4/ unscrew the exhaust filter on the valve block, check for white residue. If there is loads it's time for a valve block clean and rebuild with new diaphram valve and O rings or a replacemetn used valve block form a breakers. I got one for £150 and the suspension operation has been excellent since.


Failing that cry and start replacing parts systematically.
