Ok here goes.... I have just rebuilt my box on my l322 and the car has been sat for about 5 months while I did it, maybe more but today she had her first drive out since the surgery And The car drives great, however I now have a new problem... when I jacked the car down the air suspension was completely flat down on the bump stops I fired her up and the pump started to pump the suspension up and after a great deal of time it reached normal height, however when I started driving it said air suspension inactive, but the pump still continued to run occasionally as normal, so I plugged her in and it came up with two faults on the air suspension, one said Reservoir pressure static while pump running (which is a lie as the pressure and car were rising) and the other said pump temperature static while pump running, all settings seemed ok, the pressure was set to 12 bar and was running at 10 bar with a minimal pressure of 9 bar and once I cleared the codes everything was fine but a few minutes later it was inactive again, could this be due to the long period with no battery on and the air suspension being flat? Everything was working fine before the car was laid up and seems to be working fine now but the car seems to think it isn’t? Any advise would be great as I’m clueless now.
 
Could be that it was left for a while...Firstly though I would ensure the battery is in tip top (RR's love the full juice from a battery as we know) clear the fault codes and go from there.

However, if the fault returns 'Pressure static while filling' if you have no air leaks it tells me it's new compressor time ;)

Mine did a similar thing after being up on ramps for a few days but it sorted itself out once the codes had been cleared a couple of days later - 05 mine what year is yours? Just noticed on a previous thread yours is an 04 - shame you are not closer as I have a perfectly good compressor sitting here gathering dust - bought a new one as I thought mine was faulty but turns out the compressor was not at fault. Fitted the new one and replaced the ring in the old one and now it's surplus to requirements.

Yeah I bought a new heavy duty HGV battery for it as the old one was sadly left flat so was stuffed! I have cleared the codes about 3 times now and it works fine for about 10 mins then goes inactive and will only maintain minimum pressure

Yeah mine is a 2004, it has been suggested that with it sitting the piston ring has stuck and thus failed so that is what’s causing the problem as the pressure will only go so high with a dodgy seal the compressor still works and i don’t seem to have any leaks, however the pump is (and always has been) quite loud it is very noticeable from inside the car but has always worked so I have never bothered about it, is it worth buying the seal kit for £25 and rebuilding the pump or would you say its better to replace as it’s quite loud/worn thanks
 
Not sure how the ring could "stick" yet allow the compressor to run but changing the piston ring is dead easy - I fitted the bagpipingandy (think that's what it was called) and the job takes less than an hour including removal/refitting - I was surprised at how worn my piston ring was.
 
I replaced the seal kit in my old pump not that long after I bought my RR, it was never overly quick compared to my Dads old L322 when going into off-road height, or lifting into any height - was a little noisey for my liking but never threw any faults to be fair until a year or so later then I finally replaced with a new Pump as wasn't generating enough pressure.
Difference was amazing, pumped it up much much quicker, almost silent, and over 2yrs later remains the same (Touching wood!) wish I'd just bitten the bullet and thrown a new pump on it when I got it ( was £285 delivered)

The seal kit Is a temporary fix IMO.

By ‘stick’ I mean that the seal bonded to the cylinder wall not enough to seize but enough to damage the seal once the pump sprung back to life also the 15 minutes it took get up to pressure probably didn’t help! I think I may replace the seals as it’s quick and easy to ensure that is the issue and everything else is working ok and see how it performs if it’s still slow then time for a new pump, your right it is bagpipingandy! :D

I agree as the kit is machined by hand according to his you tube video so I don’t think it will be perfectly accurate but worth a shot
 
Got the seal kit from bagpipingandy on flebay for £25, had the pump out and new seals installed in about 40 mins, really easy to do, I think the problem was caused from damp as there was about 2 inches of standing water in the spare wheel well and the sound insulation inside the pump housing was soaking so got it all dry and stuck it back in, reset the fault codes and.... I sat there..... and I honestly thought it wasn’t working!!! The pump is now completely silent! I honestly didn’t expect it to fix it, but everything works perfectly now, thanks guys!
 
Glad you found the issue. Dont forget it can take 10 minutes to fill a completley empty air receiver.
