Hi all, I've left my '99 Disco Td5 ES parked up for a month or so (I'm currently in Iraq!) I've had reports back from the lads in the UK saying my suspension is down on the passenger side rear, the Disco has air suspension and I have a set of 4 wheels in the back.

My question to anyone who may be able to give me some advice is whether or not on my return to the UK the vehicle will require any imediate work before driving?

I believe there must be a small leak and the extra weight of the load has collapsed the bag? Will it reinflate upon starting up and be ok with only light loads until I can get the bag replaced?

Many thanks in advance for your help

Rich

Hi Mate,

If it's gone down slowly, don't worry - When you power up on your return, it will just re-inflate and it's fine to drive. You can then (at your convenience) spray it with some soapy water to prove it's got a leak and then replace the bag (easy job).

No 'immediate' worrys though.

Hope this helps, take care out there!

Second that.

Recently suffered the same problem with ours. Will almost certainly get worse over time, as ours did. Best checked as soon as you can to remove all doubt. You don't want to be in a position where you overwork the compressor and end up with a much more expensive job on your hands. Replacement is an easy DIY job and no more than 45 mins or so to do :) . Britpart replacements (Dunlop Pneuride) currently available from Paddocks for about £80 inc VAT each.

All the best and good luck!

Thanks gents,

That has set my mind at rest. Feared having to spend hours under my Landy as soon as I return, before enjoying some leave in the pleasent greeness of the British countryside!

Thanks again for your prompt replies.

mine does the same, on the passenger side, when you start your engine it will rise up-so long as all the doors are shut-if one is open it wont move, a safety feature of the air suspension.
