The front end of my l322 is lower than the back.

I have just replaced the piston ring and seal in the compressor using one of the kits off eBay... (Have to say was a great walk thru from andybagpipes or whatever he's called)

Anyway, all back together - have just reset the fault codes using the ignition and dash buttons etc... All codes cleared.

First turn of the ignition saw a tiny lift at the from and then ping! Back on comes the error self level suspect. Inactive followed by the air susp. Inactive errors.

What's the recommended next port of call?

Replacement front struts?

Or given that it's low on both front struts could it be something else?

Cheers in advance
Chris

Should add, a few months back a local garage levelled it all up and it was fine for a while, never lost the error and the ride height button didn't work, but the suspension was level....

But gradually over months it has dropped back down on the front again

Check the conditions of the height sensors

Also proper diagnostics would most likely point to the fault

Thanks for the reply. I've been sifting through article after article and I think I've gathered that the dashboard reset isn't enough and that I will need to get it plugged in [emoji17]

You can get your own diagnostics for as little as £250

Search for the RSW all comms

Soon pay for itself after just a couple of uses

Couldn't think of owning my Range Rover without diagnostics !

Cheers guys just paid 30 quid to have the codes read and cleared.

Codes present were:
116 reservoir pressure static when filling
103 too much energy for regulation needed front axle
08 high pressure exhaust valve fault
28 high pressure exhaust supply valve fault
36 compressor temp sensor fault
07 exhaust valve fault
50 can bus fault

After changing the piston ring in the compressor and clearing the faults I now have suspension all working ok and no faults showing at all!

I'm not holding my breath tho......

I'd check the airbags for leaks which is the usual cause of compressor failure.

Why would both the fronts be down equally?

Would it more likely be something to do with the front valve wotsit?

If there's a leak
The ECU will try to level the car as well as it can so you can drive it safely home

Best you download a thing called "rave" and have a read up.

It's the workshop manuals for the L322's

Providing that code hasn't come back it's fine, the pressure static means the compressor is supplying air but the pressure isn't increasing which could have been the pump / piston ring you replaced or its leaking out the reservoir. If you have cleared and it doesn't return then nothing to worry about. Those faults could have been logged since the car was built
Allcomms is your friend

Mine had two leaky bags for some time I reckon and my compressor had been keeping up for quite a while but finally wore itself out trying

I had my 2 front shocks changed then I changed both height sensors , and the piston ring was changed as well in the pump

The left sensor was in poor condition and my diagnostic tool was showing the right one was not pulling the correct voltage as the left one ..

Left sensor was dragging the right one down so replaced them both .

Then calibrated air suspension on a flat surface , all do no more issues

it took 3 weeks :(
