Hi all, I'm going to replace the air springs & despite reading lots of threads I'm still not sure on a bit of the procedure.
1. Can the air springs be replaced with the suspension on the bump stops or do I need to put a jack under the back to stop the body dropping all the way down ? (As mine has rear A/C I did see on one post about the lagging on the pipes getting in the way).
2. Should I or is it best to trim the air pipes where it goes into the top of the 'spring' ?
3. Are there any improved or better fittings for the connection between pipes & air springs I should get before I start ? I've got spring clips with the 'springs' & as ever I'll disconnect the battery an hour or so before I start.
I'm doing this because it seems 90% of problems are the 'springs' & the mention of a leak (see below). It's been dropping to its bump stops over the last few weeks (which it's never done before) if I sit in the back or put heavy-ish loads in the boot (264 lbs of coal or 120kg if your under a certain age :)).
I replaced the ride height sensors on the 21/10/22 & it was fine (200 odd miles covered). Whist on holiday I had a calibration done (Thurs 27th) at an indy dealer & he mentioned the r/h spring had a leak. Within two hours of that it was playing up again so we didn't use it for the rest of the day or Fri. We loaded it up to come home Sat & it didn't miss a beat :). It's never lost air since I've had it whilst parked overnight or even after a week without use ! So let's hope this cures it. As ever any advice/tips much appreciated, all the best.

It’s been a while since I done mine. From memory though it was a dawdle. Jacked the body up with axle hanging. Cut the olive off the pipe as close as possible, and dress the pipe end up so it’s a clean push fit. Puncture the original with something sharp to remove. Fit new. I think it’s about 15mins a side.

I had to garage mine for this took them well under 1 hour.

I watched, not difficult.

I had no access to jack and stands plus a really bad back
