anyone know if there's a "How To" to fix the pump? just got a 35mph on the motorway going 70mph, I suspect its the pump, ever since I put these Arnott air bags on, the front offside hasn't gone up like the rest to, so the pump has been working overtime to get the last bag up, so im just guessing mind, but it could have worn the brushes down, so need to replace them???? (your thoughts please) if it is that, can you get replacement ones? and is it an easy job ? and if there's a "how to" would make the job so much easier

took the filter off and stuck finger over the hole, its sucking in air, but I dont think its enough, you can take your finger away easy, all the yellow lights are on, and I have a spare pump, so if anyone thinks its still this I will swap them 2morrow, dont think this has hight sensors and all that jazz, its a 97, took the new pump apart, the bushes look very good on it, and the Teflon thing looks OK as well the walls on it look thick with not many bumps on it (although not perfect) but I think its good enough not to pass air through it , the cylinder looks good, no scratch marks on it

I'm no expert on EAS (although might be a learning curve for me as mine threw it's first fault on tuesday - taken up Datatek's offer of the software).
I thought all models had height sensors? might be worth checking those out. Mine was a sticking valve.

It's the ouput that you stick your finger over to check if the pump is producing pressure.

Every Rangie with air suspension has height sensors. How else would it know when it's at the correct height.

Check the 'new' pump with your finger over the output before you plumb it in.

If it's taking longer to pump up one corner then it's odds on that you've got a leak on that corner. The pipe into the bag not fully seated perhaps?

Much more likely that the piston seal / barrel is worn than the brushes.

So it will light up like an Xmas tree, if there's not enough air in the tank and it starts to fall below the hight its meant to ride? the Teflon ring went a few years back so I replaced it, will swap it over with the other pump, and take the old one apart and see what's what, I dont need to reset it do I? Its just a swap and if it works it should be fine shouldn't it??

Yes, shouldn't need a reset but if that corner is leaking then you'll burn the new pump out as it'll be working all the time to fill the leak.

If you look under the front passenger (left) seat you'll find a large relay. Unplug that and it'll stop the car self-levelling or doing anything else. If you do that last thing at night and come out in the morning and a corner has dropped then you've got a leak on that corner. Could be the bag or the valve-block, or even a dodgy air line.

In the how-to section Wammers has written a rather good section on the EAS. Worth reading first.
