After watching lots of videos I ordered a new air jack and had to give it a try. I have a LR3 so there are two exhaust pipes which, after exiting the rear box turn downwards through 90 deg. They are then cut of in the horizontal.

When I fitted the rubber cone it seems to be too large and butts up against the rear box apparently stopping a true seal forming.

The bag does not inflate. In fact there seems to be no flow down the supply tube.

Am I doing something wrong that is so obvious I am missing it?

Just out of curiosity what the hells an LR3? Is it a new lawnmower range from Honda? I have an old Honda petrol lawnmower, its great. Damn things near bulletproof

LR3 - Yank. Is that how the Discovery is know in the USA. No, I am not American.

Deaf? Are you referring to text size? I will try to alter it.

I was told by a mechanic that it was unneccessary to block the other exhaust as the two exhausts derive from opposite sides of the V6. Do you think that is not the case?

Why not just say disco 3?. We are not American. Well, some of us are but I would be surprised if even they knew what a vague term like LR3 meant

This is very petty. It says LR3 on the back of my car.

mine tends to say j4*6EPN in quite big letters,
no ones told me what that means

oh, it may be because I is poor,
and only have one tail pipe in which to bung up...

Block the other tailpipe

they look like they start off seperate, but combine in the dpf

stick yer hand over the tailpipe, if theres no pressure its coming out of the other side, even if one 1/2 of yer V6 wanst running itd still be pumping air (as well as drive like a bag o nails)

looks like you need to carry a potato as part of your emergency kit

will need replacing at usual service intervals :)

Couldn't he just stick his knob in the other exhaust? A potato is for eatin

perhaps he should swap the potato for a bag of crisps then

give him something to eat while facilitating the use of his jack

longer service interval as well :)

Well I dunno. Provided he is skilled at multitasking he could potentially use the potato for chips, mashed tatties, baked potato, roast potato etc... Crisps are just crisps. He will need to mind keep all ingredients and cooking utensils to hand though, otherwise he'll have to take his knob out of the exhaust and the jack will go down
