Unlike a standard fridge unit that is sealed a car uses multiple Flexi hoses and joints that even under ideal conditions will dry up and let gases slowly leak. As cars age this will get worse unless the hoses etc are replaced. Plus the aircon system has a lubricant in it that if not used isn't being pumped around the system.how you figure unless there is a leak. Here we don't us AC in a car for about 6-7 months in a year. and our house ac only gets used maybe 2-3 months in a year.
And the biggest reason it's a sodding land-rover, need I say more.
Sounds like a complete Dingle. There's more to it than system pressure. Just take it somewhere else and just ask for a re-gas. Even though it's called a re-gas, there's multiple stages to the service, it's more like a rejuvenation than just adding gas.Just come back from Halfrauds and got seen to immediately. Guy picked up a can, walked to my FL and connected the short hose which was connected to the can and after switching on the air conditioning he said, "look, it is almost full, I won't be able to improve on that". So no recharge done.
So now I am asking is there anything wrong with my air con. It definitley puts out cold air but not nearly as cold as it has been previously.
It certainly cannot cope with the current weather we are having. I have to open windows.
Could there be something wrong or was this guy just an untrained, unknowing oaf?
I have had the car for around 5 years and I have never had the air con recharged in that time.
