Hi guys,
I have an 1988 110 defender with no air-con, is there a good way to put a unit in, if so how expensive is it and how easy is it.
Yours sincerely Burtie

Not unless you strip one out of a nas spec with one in. I'm not aware of a company that do them, try a search of google.?
Or just open the vent flaps? Just as good

there were some made with air con but complete original kits are like hens teeth. i did see one on ebay a while ago but it just went for too much

I have tried google but there was nothing I could find, but im planning to cross the Sahara, which just opening the vents wont help much

You might want to look into an aftermarket solution as fitted to ambulances, campers etc that run seperate to the engine. Fit it in the back and pipe the cold air to the front.

I am thinking of something similar that was fitted to the armies Snatch Landrovers.

Won't be cheap though

if you google for retro fit air con theres some standalone units out there, some that run from 12V, others from the engine. stil £££ though
