Hi there, can anyone tell me if the aircon electric fan comes on when the aircon is switched on, or does it come on when the coolant temp reaches a certain temp ? Just purchased a 2003 TD5 and the fan does not appear to come on at all. Could anyone check for me please and let me know when your fan comes on. Thanks Nick

If the outside temp is above 25 C and if the 40A fuse in the engine compartment fuse box is not blown then it should work!Try to spin the fan to check if it's not blocked as was mine.

Hi Flay
Thanks for the info, I will go off and check the fuse. Fan rotates fine, just was not sure if the fan came on all the time the air con was on. My BMW car has aircon and the fan comes on whenever the aircon is turned on regardless of ambient temp. Maybe I will wait for a day with plus 25degc, may be a long wait in the UK the way the weather is going at the moment. Cheers Nick.

And the fan will stop if you exceed 60 mph...(for sure it will not be very easy to check that).
I had the same problem and changed the fan and a week ago the fuse;now it works!

Just found this thread, I appear to have the same problem...My air con fan isn't kicking in. Air con works OK, nothing spectacular, thinking about getting it re-charged at quickfit.
Checked the Fan fuses, all appear ok and it Spins freely. If the air con system is low on gas...could this possibly cause the air con fan not to kick it?
